Site Assessment

The emergency tree removal process begins with a site assessment. Your certified arborist will assess the area for safety and determine what steps are needed to safely bring down your tree without causing any further damage.

Why Choose Sox & Freeman

K

Certified Arborists

At Sox & Freeman we aren’t just a few guys with chainsaws – we are ISA-certified arborists. This means that you’re working with tree experts who have the training, education, and experience to handle even the most challenging tree removals.

K

Long-term Relationships

Sox & Freeman has been in business for 75 years and some of our clients have been with us for three generations. Like the trees we work with, we take a long view of the world and prioritize developing long-term relationships over short-term gain.

K

An Ongoing Commitment to Training

We don’t rest on our laurels and are always training the next generation of arborists. At Sox & Freeman our non-certified crew members are given the time, training, and resources to become certified arborists via our Arborist Development Plan.

K

Top of the Line Equipment

We don’t cut any corners when it comes to our equipment and use only the best. This means that your problem tree can be safely removed without damaging your property – even in difficult to access spaces or for extremely large tree removals.

K

Tree Doctors, Not Lumberjacks

We love Columbia for its amazing tree cover and it is always our goal to preserve as many healthy trees as possible. Your problem trees will be safely removed – but when applicable we will also provide you with recommendations for non-destructive solutions.

Trusted By The Midlands for 75 years!

Why should I work with a certified arborist?

At Sox & Freeman our crews always include an ISA-certified arborist. The International Society of Arboriculture sets standards for arboriculture (tree care) and requires training, testing, and continuing education to qualify for and maintain certification.

When you work with a certified arborist you can rest easy knowing that you aren’t taking down a tree that is healthy enough to remain standing, and that the tree removal process will be performed with skill and professionalism.

Do you offer 24/7 emergency tree removal?

At this time, we do not offer 24/7 emergency tree services. If you experience a tree related emergency and are an existing Sox & Freeman customer, please call us and we will do everything in our power to provide assistance.

Do you remove the felled tree and limbs?

Yes! Unlike many other tree service companies which may only take away the larger sections of trunk while leaving behind piles of limbs and mounds of mulch, you will be left with a clean yard free of mess or debris.

What areas do you service?

We offer professional tree services across the South Carolina Midlands and the surrounding areas, including Blythewood, Cayce, Chapin, Columbia, Irmo, Lexington, and West Columbia.

We are Located at: 3615 Phillips Street, Columbia, SC 29203
